Northpraise has been in operation for a year now. We still stay with our vision which is seeing Northern Ghana gospel music at the top.
As we have been operating, we have also been observing processes around as far as Northern gospel music is concerned in this 2022. Our observations are discussed under three sub-topics below.
Music and Video (Official) Production
We have observed that there had been fewer songs produced this year (2022) and so with official music videos.
Artists did not turn their attentions to production of songs and videos during the year. We are making these assumptions based on projects that came to our desk and those that did not come to us. One way to break the odds to get our music appreciated is to add more content to the community but there were no much song, albums and EPs released in the year. We recommend that music artists in 2023 should direct portions of their efforts to recording of new song to expand our songs in the industry.
Worship Events
These were numerous programs organized everywhere within Northern Ghana in this 2022. There were many worship events this year than any other year. This judgement is made summing all annual and occasional programs. It has been noticed that attentions are drifting from studio recordings of songs to organizing worship events.
But we wish to recommend hereof that we integrate live recording into our programs to make their results exist for coon’s age.
We go for these programs worship and go without it been recorded to add content to the industry though these programs impact on our spiritual lives.
Social Media
Social media is now the biggest instrument to growing music. We as Northerners still haven’t fully discovered the total influence of social media on our music. The musicians are doing well. 90% of our artists are interactive now on social media just that fewer of them have accounts on digital markets but the people within our sub-region still need to be sensitized.
We still find it difficult to LIKE and FOLLOW pages on social media, share, like and comment on their posts. We are allergic to playing music on digital platforms. We feel reluctant to subscribe to YouTube channels of artists from the north and watch videos on their channels. You will argue with us that they don’t serve you with standard content, but we will challenge you that we have seen standard projects with meager patronage. Projects here might not be of top-notch, but we will need to cherish them because it’s our own and rather encourage them to improve.
We did not keenly observe other auxiliary elements like radios and sponsors and their contribution to the gospel music fraternity so we can’t say much.
We hereby want to appeal to artists and musicophiles to play their respective roles so that we can together develop our music.
