The 2022 Upper East Music Awards took place at the GNAT Hall in the heart of the region, Bolgatanga on the 30th of December. The Night began with performances from some artists who were nominated for awards.
AmenEast Gospel was the only artist from the Gospel guild to perform. He was the first performer of the night; raising the bars to become the first artist ever to perform live at Upper East Music Awards. Asala Mina was the song on everyone’s lips on the night.
Though northpraise agents didn’t set eyes on both Elvis Nso-yine and Rita Adomolga but they took award.
In the prelims, these renowned artists had more than one nominations each. Elvis Nso-yine had six nominations, Rita Adomolga had four nominations and AmenEast Gospel had two nominations.
Awards won
Veteran Elvis Nso-yine won two awards from the scheme. He won Male Vocalist of The Year category with his Nyalima track and his “Hun de Tufaraa” album was adjudged the album of the year.
Gospel songstress Rita Adomolga, based in the Southern part of Ghana also won two awards on the night. Her “Tumbero” song which she collaborated with Obaapa Christy and tbe official video directed by Skyweb videos won the Best Video of The year category and this is a big credit going to the kingdom’s people. Due to her exceptional and first-rate work, she was adjudged the Gospel Artiste of the Year.
AmenEast Gospel won Gospel Song of the Year with his high-rated song, Asala Mina. He is one of the artists giving gospel music wings to fly.
