Pst. Jedidiah Atiah Calls For Collaborative Support From Pastors and Church Members For Music Ministers In Upper East Region

Indeed, music has become a core fraction of the church and cannot be dissociated. With this knowledge, it’s better to push and make it better than to discourage it.

Pastor Jedidiah Atia has bravely tackled the peril of Northern Ghana Gospel Music that everyone has been running away from; the inability of pastors and church members to reciprocate support for ministers even in their own churches. He made this handwriting on the wall to the people of the Upper East Region but the message is applicable and relevant in all sectors of the North.

Pst. Jedidiah is a recording artist, a minister, songwriter, a producer, and Instrumentalists and a sound engineer in the Upper East Region.

The music ministry in the Upper East Region has become a cornerstone of Church support, boosting incredibly talented gospel musicians who selflessly minister through music to glorify God.

However, their dedication comes with significant challenges. Organizing events to unite people in praise and worship requires immense effort, financial strain and managing expectations.

Despite their hardwork, these young ministers face discouragement due to;

  • Lack of encouragement and attendance
  • Inadequate support
  • Unmet eexpectations

This contrasts with the worldly music industry where artists receive substantial support, enabling them to invest in their craft and excel.

To foster growth, churches and members in the Upper East must adopt a new mindset:

  • Recognize the value of Music Ministry
  • provide tangible support (financial, attendance and promotion)
  • Encourage collaboration

Pastors, in particular, should:

  • Reciprocate ssupport when young musicians host events
  • Treat their events with the same importance as church service
  • actively participate, rather than merely attending

By doing so, we can empower these gifted individuals to continue serving God with their talents, uplifting the church and inspiring the community.

When pastors need a musician, they will do everything but when a musician needs them, iy is unfortunate event.
