These Are The Winners of Gospel Related Categories of The 2023 Upper West Music Award.

The 2023 edition of the prestigious Upper West Music awards, sponsored by Happyman Bitters, took place on 6th January at the First and Last Gardens in Wa. In fact, the organizers of this award scheme should be applauded for the mitzvah. Though is was an outdoor event, the organizers were able to stage the event as it was supposed to.

The 2023 edition of the Upper West Music Award was on theme: Branding and Re-branding. This year’s edition tried to communicate to artists within the Upper West Region to be unique in their style. The scheme realized a total of 94 nominations but our focus is on two of those 94 nominations; The Gospel Artiste of The Year and The Gospel Song of The Year.

After the night, the “Dedaade” song from Young Cash won the Gospel Song of the Year Category.

Michael Samwine was adjudged the Instrumentalist of the Year. Samwine is a Pianist and a guitarist whose contributions to the Gospel kindred can’t be overlooked.

The overall HMB-Upper West Gospel Artiste of the Year went to Evangelist Christian Nyuni known shortly as Evang Chris by people from the Upper West Region. He has been a hard working artist, releasing albums and songs in their indigenous dialect, love by the people. His recent release was on the 10th of December 2022 where he outdoored a 6 track album title Daana fo Baare ka.
